The garage is finally all hard plumbed with compressed air!

October 22nd, 2008 12:57am /bin/buddha

Took from 7pm to 2am, but it’s finally all set. Some nice white pex tubing now flows 175psi air to every corner of my garage, and hard pipes my sandblaster, and hose reels.

Weldercart, finally done. Didn’t think it’s take me all day to fab the cylinder rack… Angle iron reclaimed from an old bedframe.

Alaska update

July 26th, 2008 09:42am /bin/buddha

we woke up sat morning and hauled off in the den’ina towards ‘hole in the wall’ and we stayed overnight. I came to find out that halibut bait is really stinky. We used stinky harring wrapped in plastic bags, sliced up “humpy” salmon, and “brown bomber” rockcod as bait. Halibut hooks a very interesting, it’s almost like a safety hook.

first day in Alaska

July 19th, 2008 04:21pm /bin/buddha

Stayed the night with my aunt and uncle, had some awesome steak, and some outstanding wine. Woke up the next morning at 6:20 and bit the airport. I’ve never been to the SEATAC airport before, was pretty cool. Had a breakfast bagel in the pub during our layover which was accompanied with a lovely bloody Mary. Then we loaded up on the 737 and flew to katchikan. The landing wasn’t nearly as bad as I expected from dad. The airport is on a seperate island away from town. Took the $5 ferry over to katchikan and got our other ferry tickets in order. It was a 3 hour wait until we were to leave, but we couldn’t leave our bags unattended. So dad having already seen katchikan said he’d stay by the bags and I could go exploring. He said town was ‘just over there’, and I came to find out the I was up for a 40min walk, but I grabbed some.pocs and some videos of the huge cruise ships that were in port. Also picked up some presents at the gift shop, and a new jacket. Then we loaded up on the ferry and took a nice lileisurly cruise for 3 hrs to hollis. Bob and judy picked us up at hollis and we drove through the ‘normal’ downpour over to craig/klawock. We went right to the dock to unload our bags where we will be sleeping for the next 9 days. Judy had bought some fresh local oysters which I found out have to be imported and grown from Washington, because the water is too cold for them to reproduce. Dad busted out the tequila and we had fresh caught lincod oysters, and baked potatoes, it was awesome! Then we went to sleep in the front of the fishboat, the ‘dena’ina’ where dad and I competed at seeing who could snore louder.

UFC recap - SuperStar Lee Anderson to face a WWE wrestler?

KMVT Link

In other UCF news, Superstar Lee Anderson is stepping out of his weight class in an exhibition fight on July 26 at Qwest Arena in Boise. Anderson is slated to take on WWE grappler King Kong Bundy. Bundy weighs in at a whopping 470 pounds and stands 6′4″. Anderson got a waiver on the weight difference to get the fight sanctioned, as the champion can’t find a challenger to his title belt. Anderson hasn’t been in a fight in nearly a year, but feels that he will be ready for the “big” challenge of Bundy. Tickets for the fight are available from Lee Anderson, as well as Ticketmaster locations for the Qwest Arena.
